Picnics
Our traditional picnic hampers are prepared in the Glyndebourne style, with a varied choice of starter, main course and pudding. The service includes a hamper packed with a rug, tablecloth, glass, china, cutlery and a cool box to keep the food properly chilled until the long interval. A half bottle of Champagne is included per two people. Tables and chairs can be provided, as can a porter service to carry your picnic to your chosen spot in the gardens.
Picnic Collection
To collect your picnic, please come to the Plashett building adjacent to the car park, from one and half hours before the performance starts. Our team will be waiting to assist you. If there is anything we can do to enhance the enjoyment of your picnic, then please do not hesitate to speak to one of our team.
Poor Weather
Picnic tables situated on the upper Circle terrace are available from 3pm (2pm on Sundays). In order to make this system as fair as possible, the upper Circle will be closed until this time. Glyndebourne has a limited number of available tables so in the likelihood of bad weather, we would advise customers to bring their own picnic furniture.

Porter Service £21.00 (for parties of up to 8, and £3.80 per person above that number).
Picnic tables £12.50 each
Picnic chairs £5.00 each
About Picnics
Once you have chosen your perfect picnic spot and settled down to enjoy the evening sun, why not stroll up to the Champagne tent and indulge yourself in a refreshing glass of Pimms or champagne?
Fresh English strawberries & cream are also available here to tempt you further! If you need any additional champagne, wines or water on the day you can visit the Lawn Bar or Long Bar where we can offer you a varied selection.
As always, to ensure that you and your party have an enjoyable evening at Glyndebourne, we are happy to assist in any way we can, especially with any special picnic catering.
Some furniture is available on the day from the Plashett building, subject to availability so please enquire on arrival.
