Picnics
Our picnic hampers are prepared in the traditional Glyndebourne style. Simply choose your starter, main course
and pudding. Your picnic will include a hamper packed with a table cloth, glass, china, cutlery and a cooler
bag to keep your food chilled until the Long Interval. Tables and chairs are available to hire, as are our friendly
porters who will assist you in carrying and setting up your picnic in the gardens, as well as clearing your picnic
after the Long Interval.
NB: Picnics will be removed from the grounds at the end of the Long Interval.
Single diners are welcome to order a Glyndebourne Picnic.
Picnic Collection
Collect your Glyndebourne Picnic from the Plashett building adjacent to the main car park, from one and a half hours before the performance starts. If there is anything we can do to enhance the enjoyment of your Glyndebourne Picnic, please do not hesitate to speak to one of the team.
Poor Weather
A limited number of Glyndebourne Picnic tables are situated on the Upper Circle Terrace and are available from 3pm daily (2pm on Subdays) on a first-come first-served basis.
Furniture Hire & Porter Service
Porter service £25.00 for parties up to 8, thereafter £4.00 per person
Picnic tables £16.00 each
Picnic chairs £6.40 each
Furniture may be booked in advance if accompanying a Glyndebourne picnic. A limited quantity of furniture is
available for hire on the day, please enquire on arrival at the Plashett Picnic hut.
About Picnics
Once you have chosen your perfect picnic spot and settled down to enjoy the evening sun, why not stroll up to the Champagne tent and indulge yourself in a refreshing glass of Pimms or Champagne?
Fresh English strawberries & cream are also available here to tempt you further! If you need any additional Champagne, wines or water on the day you can visit the Lawn Bar or Long Bar where we can offer you a varied selection.
As always, to ensure that you and your party have an enjoyable evening at Glyndebourne, we are happy to assist in any way we can, especially with any special picnic catering.
Some furniture is available on the day from the Plashett building, subject to availability so please enquire on arrival.
