Mildmay

Mildmay was originally designed to resemble a traditional Sussex barn and surrounded by the magnificent walled garden, the restaurant offers the most relaxed environment of all. An intimate setting for those who choose to enjoy a three course bistro-style meal on one of the balconies or, during fine weather, al fresco on the veranda.

Mildmay exudes a sense of space and light. Seated under the shade of the vaulted barn-style ceiling with floor to ceiling windows open in fine weather and looking out over the colourful, ornate garden, the restaurant creates the feeling of dining al fresco without actually being completely outdoors.

A perfect setting in which to watch the 90 minute, well-choregraphed service of delicious, bistro-style food, Mildmay is well suited to a romantic meal, a social soiree with guests or the celebrating of a special event with friends and family. Centred around the semi-oval bar, all diners can be immersed in the informal, unhurried atmosphere to enjoy one of two delicious three course menus of the freshest, local produce.

Alongside ever popular steamed Sussex asparagus, sirloin steak and triple cooked chips and berry-filled summer pudding, we have introduced new dishes for the Festival 2020 including Bresaola with celeriac remoulade, herb ricotta cake and an exciting finale of Glyndebourne chocolate orange which we are confident will become firm favourites for future years.
